Urgent and Emergency Care

Emergency Care:  available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week for serious, life-threatening problems (For Example: chest pains, shortness of breath, major injuries and serious aliments)  A staff physician is on site at all times. 

                                                                                                                                   

 

Urgent Care:  evenings and weekends. 

Hours: Monday - Friday: 5:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.

              Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Urgent care is for illnesses and injuries that need immediate care, but are not life-threatening such as:

  • Minor asthma-related symptoms
  • Minor cuts or animal bites where bleeding is controlled
  • Strains or sprains (if bone is showing or limb is deformed - go directly to the ER)
  • Skin rashes, sunburns or minor burns, such as one from cooking
  • Fever (if under 6 months of age, go to the ER)
  • Earache, cough and/or sore throat
  • Illness with nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea
  • Eye infections
  • Bladder infections

Patients are seen on a walk-in basis by a Certified Physician Assistant under the direction of a family practice physician.  No appointment is necessary; treatment is available for all ages.

Please keep in mind that both ER and Urgent Care patients are seen in order of the seriousness of the condition and order of arrival.  Urgent Care and ER share a waiting room at the hospital.
