Immediate Care



Mile Bluff Medical Center offers emergency and urgent care services in Mauston.  Although they are similar, there are certain differences in the care that is provided by each.

Emergency Room care is available 24-hours a day for serious, life-threatening situation, such as severe illness, serious injury, and sudden change in a person's health condition that require immediate intervention.

For example, if a person is experiencing the following symptoms, they should come to the Emergency Room.
   -Broken bones
   -Chest pains or pressure
   -Difficulty breathing
   -Head trauma/injuries
   -Major injuries/accidents
   -Severe abdominal pain
   -Stroke
   -Sudden dizziness
   -Trouble seeing
   -Uncontrollable bleeding

Mile Bluff's ER team prepared to provide trauma care as a Level III Trauma Center!


Urgent Care
is available in evenings (4-11 pm) and weekends (9 am to 9 pm).  It provides treatment for illnesses and injuries that require immediate attention, but are not life-threatening.

Urgent Care provides care for patients who have:
   -Coughs and congestion
   -Cuts requiring stitches
   -Deep bruises
   -Diarrhea
   -Ear infections
   -Fevers
   -Flu symptoms
   -Insect bites
   -Mild to moderate asthma attacks
   -Rashes
   -Scrapes and bruises
   -Sore throat
   -Sprains
   -Strains
   -Upper respiratory infections



Please note that Urgent Care patients are seen in order of arrival.  Emergency patients are seen in order of the severity of their condition.  Urgent Care and the ER share a waiting room.  If you are waiting and see other patients go in ahead of you, it may be due to their condition.  The staff will do their best to keep you informed of when you will be taken in for treatment.  If you have questions at any time during your visit, please ask.
