On Fridays, Mile Bluff Medical Center employees participate in "Casual for a Cause" days, where they are invited to wear jeans to work in exchange for a donation to a chosen community cause. Through the generosity of staff, the recent three-month fundraising drive successfully collected over $710.
In October, Mile Bluff took the opportunity to donate to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization that helps residents secure affordable and safe housing in our local communities. Income-qualified families and individuals can apply for homeownership, committing to invest hours of their own labor, known as sweat equity, alongside volunteers and other Habitat homeowners.
Habitat for Humanity ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers that sell new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds are used to build and improve homes in our communities locally.
"Helping to ensure that local families have safe housing is so important to the health of our community, and we are proud to support this cause," said Dara Bartels, Mile Bluff’s President and CEO.
Mile Bluff Medical Center remains dedicated to supporting the community, extending its impact well beyond the boundaries of the medical center.
