Andrew Nelson, MD
About Andrew
Growing up in La Crosse, Wisconsin, Dr. Nelson was deeply influenced by his parents, both of whom were physicians. His interest in healthcare was further fueled by his own experience as a patient, which profoundly impacted his career path.
Dr. Nelson is passionate about serving his community and providing high-quality care for patients with complex medical needs. He believes in keeping patients close to their loved ones during treatment, as being with family plays an essential role in the healing process. His approach to emergency medicine involves not only assessing and treating immediate concerns but also taking the time to understand his patients' unique situations. He excels in diagnosing and managing complicated cases, working tirelessly to rule out emergency conditions and initiate appropriate care to stabilize his patients.
In his practice, Dr. Nelson is committed to taking a patient-centered approach. He strives to be present at the bedside, getting to know his patients and collaborating with them to develop a treatment plan that best addresses their needs. While he understands that some medical issues cannot be resolved immediately, he is dedicated to making patients comfortable and providing them with the care and attention they deserve.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Nelson enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, hiking, biking, and exploring new places with his family. He is also passionate about providing compassionate, personalized care to every patient he encounters at Mile Bluff Medical Center.
