Women's Health

At Mile Bluff, we understand that every patient faces unique challenges and experiences personal triumphs. That’s why we provide the individualized attention you deserve.

As a Mile Bluff patient, you’ll find a true partner in your healthcare journey. Our dedicated medical staff offers comprehensive care—from your first gynecological exam through menopause and everything in between. Your health and evolving needs are always at the center of everything we do.

Obstetrics, Pregnancy Care & Birthing Center

The care you receive from our Obstetrics Department begins well before labor. Preconception visits, routine prenatal testing and care, and educational resources provide a strong foundation for a healthy pregnancy—for both you and your baby.

At Mile Bluff, we want our patients to feel empowered when making decisions about their care. Our OB team is here to support you every step of the way.

When it’s time to labor and deliver, our birthing center has much to offer, including labor and delivery tubs, home-like birthing suites, and both traditional and alternative pain management options. Designed with comfort in mind, our birthing center allows you to labor, deliver, and recover—all in the same room with your baby.

We’re also proud to offer unique delivery options such as water births and family-centered C-sections. In addition, certified lactation consultants are available on-site to provide expert breastfeeding support.

Gynecology

There are times when seeing your primary care provider is appropriate, and there are female-specific concerns that you may want to have addressed by our experienced gynecologist. No periods, light or heavy periods, pelvic pain, breast tenderness, and urinary incontinence are all good reasons to schedule an appointment. In addition to caring for routine gynecological concerns, our gynecology team also performs minimally-invasive surgeries to meet the surgical needs of patients.

Breast Health

Mile Bluff's Medical Imaging Department uses state-of-the-art mammography equipment to assess and diagnose breast health concerns. In addition to being available by appointment, mammograms are provided on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm. This convenience is open to those who have a primary care provider in the Mile Bluff system, and do not have any specific breast cancer concerns.

3D Mammography is available at Mile Bluff. 3D mammography is a screening tool used to look for breast cancer. The technology provides clear, detailed images to detect smaller cancers sooner, and to decrease the chance of false-positive results and call-backs for additional imaging tests. When a lump or questionable area is discovered in the breast, stereotactic biopsies can also be performed right in Mauston.

Bone Health

Mile Bluff's Medical Imaging Department also provides bone density screenings. This technology uses X-rays to measure how many grams of calcium and other bone minerals are found in the bones. This can detect osteoporosis, which causes bones to become brittle and can lead to breaks.

Pelvic Floor Health

Do you worry about what will happen if you sneeze or laugh too hard? If you are one of the millions of people who experience urinary incontinence (the loss of bladder control/bladder leakage), you know that even a little sneeze can cause a big concern.

Using bladder training, biofeedback, therapeutic exercise, and other techniques, the physical therapy team at Mile Bluff can help. The staff is specially trained to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with incontinence issues.

Our team of gynecologists also provides non-surgical and surgical options to treat incontinence.

Nutrition Counseling

When you see a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at Mile Bluff, you will not be given a 'one-size-fits-all' plan. Our nutrition experts will work with you to learn about your unique needs, lifestyle, genetics, health history, and food preferences. From there, you will work together to set realistic health goals for managing chronic disease, food allergies and/or weight issues.

To schedule an appointment, ask your primary care provider for a referral to see a registered dietitian nutritionist. Call 608-847-1295 for more information.
